Church Growth Conference
The Church of Ireland Commission on Ministry is hosting a Saturday conference on Church Growth in April. Teams from parishes throughout Ireland are urged to attend with a choice of two dates and venues: Belfast on 18 April or Dublin on 25 April. This is what the chair of the Commission , Bishop David McClay has said:

This conference is offered as an invitation - an invitation to pause, to pray, and to believe again that, in God’s power, growth is not only possible but part of His loving purpose for His Church. Our hope is that those who attend will return to their parishes encouraged in faith, renewed in vision, and equipped to sow seeds for God’s Kingdom, for the sake of the Gospel and for the blessing of communities across Ireland.

The Rector would love to attend with a group from Calry. The cost is €10 pp. Get in touch if you are interested.

Is Calry your Church?
It could be that you are fairly new to Calry. In the Church of Ireland if you want to show that you belong to a certain parish you join what’s called The General Vestry. To do so you need to sign a form before the next Select Vestry meeting on 26 March. At that meeting your name can be put forward to be included on the General Vestry. At the Easter General Vestry meeting (this year on 21 April) you are then eligible to vote and be nominated for various official roles. If you want to know more about any of this talk to the Rector or Church Wardens (Charles and Temi).

Select Vestry and Easter General
The next meeting of the Select Vestry is due on Thursday 26 March at 8.00 pm.
The date of the Easter General Vestry (like the AGM) is Tuesday 21 April at 8.00 pm.

Summer Madness Youth Festival 26-30 June
Summer Madness is a well-established Chirstian Youth Festival that takes place at the end of June. Over five days there are a variety of activities, of main top sessions, and seminars, as well as an opportunity to be encouraged. Last year approximately 3,000 young people came together, and this year promises to be even bigger.

Camps such as this are life changing for our young people. Booking should be done by the parents, who select KEA under ‘group bookings’ to join our group. For more information get in contact with Canon Simon Scott (Rector of Longford): 086 333 8026 revsimonscott@gmail.com
