Lenten Ideas

So, what are you doing for Lent?

Perhaps you plan to give up chocolates or wine. Maybe you plan to use social media a bit less or plan to get up earlier or even start going to the gym. Why not think of making some investments?

Invest in your spiritual life

Sign up to a daily devotional, start a Bible reading plan or use the daily office of the Church of Ireland:

Why not join a small Bible or prayer group – for example on Tuesday morning, Wednesday evening or Saturday at 8 am?

Invest in the world church

Make time to pray for our partners in Kindu, DRC and give something to support their work (for example €5 each week in Lent)

Send a gift to a charity or mission that you feel drawn to.

Give to Bishops’ Appeal (the international relief and development programme of the C of I). For more go to: Bishops’ Appeal – Church of Ireland World Aid & Development - Church of Ireland - A Member of the Anglican Communion

Invest in your own church

Join us each Sunday as we journey through Lent.

Pray for God to lead us by his Spirit.

Ask if there is some ministry you could support by giving your time.

Plan to stay for coffee and talk to someone you don’t know so well.
