Prayer Update from Kindu, DRC

Archbishop Masimango is involved today in the inauguration of the new Diocese of Kalemie from the Diocese of Kindu. This is necessary because of the growth of the church in this area. His lengthy pastoral visitation tour in Kindu has yet to take place.

Calry Roof Repairs

You may notice that the north side of the church (facing the Mall) has scaffolding up. This is to allow the roof repairs on the parapet to take place.

Open Doors Ask for Prayer for Christians in the Middle East

This week we had news of the bombing of the Church of the Holy Family in Gaza and our partners report that three people have died from their injuries. In Iran, the Iranian regime is drastically intensifying the pressure on Christians, linking them directly with Israel and ‘their Zionist friends’. Since 25 June, 43 believers across 21 cities in Iran have been arrested. And in Syria, three weeks after dozens of Christians died in a church bombing in Damascus, another church has narrowly escaped a similar suicide-bomber attack.

Pray that leaders on all sides will pursue wisdom and restraint – may the Prince of Peace rule where fear and violence try to take hold.

Pray also that, in these days of crisis, many would encounter Christ through the courageous witness of His people.

Pray for the church in Iran, Syria, Israel and the Palestinian Territories; that believers remain courageous, rooted in Jesus, and a living testimony of Christ’s peace.

Sebastián Veirano

Sebastián is from Asunción, in Paraguay. We hope to have him as our next SAMS intern in Calry and the Grammar. However, this is dependent on his obtaining what’s called ‘Preclearance’ to work as a volunteer in Ireland for 12 months. Please pray that his application is successful.

Free Bible Reading Notes

Are you in need of something to help you make time to sitting at the Lord’s feet? Perhaps you would like to try Our Daily Bread? They are free Bible reading notes that come out quarterly. Copies of the summer edition are available in church today. Plus, there is a children’s version too. Take what you need.

Extra Prayer Points

  • Sebastián Veirano – proposed SAMS intern from Paraguay
  • All Saints’ Little Shelford, Simon their Rector, Gideon their curate
  • Archbishop Masimango and all our friends in Kindu and the new Diocese of Kalemie
  • Christians in the Middle East

Today if only you would hear his voice, do not harden your hearts...
