Goodbye
This is Eunjoo’s last Sunday leading worship in Calry. Very sadly we have to bid farewell to Bushik and Eunjoo today as they return to South Korea during the week. Eunjoo has invested a lot of time and energy in our choir and the sung worship of our church family. She is a hugely talented musician and we have been very blessed to have had the benefit of her experience and skill for these years. Eunjoo has always shown that singing in church is not a performance but should be understood as an act of worship for God himself.
Week of Prayer for Christian Unity
The 18th – 25th is the WPCU. This year the service in Sligo will be held at the RC Cathedral at 8.00 pm on Friday 23rd. The homilist will be Dean Ruth West. All are welcome. Refreshments will be served afterwards in the Gillooly Hall.
The Grammar School will be marking the week with a special whole school assembly in Calry on Thursday morning with visitors from Summerhill College.

The GAP youth group begins on Saturday 24th January 7.00 - 9.00 pm in Sligo Methodist Church, meeting 2nd and 4th Saturdays going forward.
Are you keen to invest in young people, helping us Gather Awaken and Propel them to a life of following Jesus and to Kingdom Work through the local Church? We’re looking for volunteers who could help us once or twice a month on Saturday evenings. Potential ways for team members to volunteer include helping run the evening program (facilitate games, help with worship, deliver talks, prayer ministry), help in the kitchen with drinks and snack, or being a befriender who comes alongside the young people.
We’re having a Team Info Night for potential volunteers 7-8pm Monday 19th January at Recentre (3 Mail Coach Road, F91 FK23) Coming along to the volunteer night doesn’t mean people are committing to helping, but gives them the opportunity to find out more and explore whether it’s something they would like to invest in. We will also have Garda Vetting forms available for those who decide they’d like to join the team.
Charity Sky Dive
Indie Sentis grew up in Calry Church. She is currently working as an emergency medical technician with LifeLine Ambulances. She is doing a charity sky dive for the Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation in May by jumping from 13,000 feet. You can sponsor her by using the QR code which will take you to the gofundme page.
Social Ground Force – Addiction Recovery, Suicide Prevention
SGF is based at what was once Kilgallen’s Bar on The Mall. Aubrey Melville and a team of others have been working hard to provide help for those who need it. Please pray for God to prosper the work.
Bible Reading Plan
If you are thinking about reading through the Bible in a year this website will help you by providing readings for each day of the year combining a portion of the Old Testament a portion of the New, a Psalm and section from Proverbs. Of course, you might want to try something simpler. Various other plans are available too. For more information go to: Bible In A Year Custom Reading Plan
Poth Family
Kirk Poth, the pastor of Sligo Baptist Church, and his wife Sandlin have been very committed to the Spring to Life network of churches in Sligo for years. Very sadly their youngest son Ben and his wife Jenny who work in Cameroon have lost their 6 year old son Owen to a tragic accident. Please pray for the parents, Owen’s siblings and Kirk and Sandlin as they grieve.
Points for Prayer:
- Eunjoo and Bushik as they move back to S Korea
- those who are grieving, including the Poth family
- those remembering the anniversary of family members they love but see no longer
- young people in our church
- the future of our sung worship
- plans for Alpha and church small groups
- Social Ground Force based on the Mall
Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.
