Choir
If you would like to explore being a part of the choir as they lead the sung worship in our church week by week rehearsals are starting on Mondays at 7.30 – 8.30 pm in the church. All ages welcome!
Tuesday Bible Study at the Rectory
The group meets on Tuesday at 11.15 am - 12.30 pm.
Saturday 8 am Inter-church Prayer Meeting – all welcome!
20 September Sligo Baptist Church
Safeguarding Trust Training
Anyone who wishes to work with under 18s or with vulnerable adults in a Church of Ireland setting must have up-to-date training in Safeguarding Trust – the Church of Ireland policy on children and vulnerable adults. The next training session will be held on Saturday, 27th of September 1.00 - 3.00 pm in the Sexton's House, Manorhamilton, with Hannah O'Neill.
Calry Harvest
The Calry Harvest Thanksgiving is going to take place on Sunday 5th October at 4 pm in the afternoon. The choir are preparing the sung worship already. Our guest speaker will be Dr Julie McKinley of the National Bible Society of Ireland. A harvest supper will be served afterwards. Donations of food items can be made which will be donated to Shalomar Hostel.
Canon Ruth West
The new Rector of the Sligo Cathedral Group Canon Ruth West will be instituted in St John’s and installed as Dean on Friday 24th October at 7.30 pm. Please plan to come and support her.
Sligo Food and Furniture Bank
If you have good quality items that you no longer need, please consider donating them to the Sligo Food and Furniture Bank beside Sligo Goal, Abbeyquarter, F91 XK0N. This may include furniture, clothes, school uniform, shoes, household items, prams, kids’ bikes and of course good food. Items may be deposited Monday – Friday between 9.30 am and 1.00 pm. Inter church choir
Sping to Life plan to form an inter church choir to sing outside Sligo Methodist Church on the afternoon of 31st October at 3.00 pm. Adults and children are all invited. We plan to meet on Monday 27th October for a practice at 7.30 pm at Sligo Methodist. Any questions contact Joe Kennedy on 086 854 4235.

Mrs Anne Fitzpatrick celebrated her 92nd birthday on Friday.
Eric Ford marked his 68th birthday on Saturday.
Condolences
Victoria Pringle just heard the sad news of her uncle, Mark Kennedy’s death after a long struggle with cancer. Please remember Victoria’s aunt Sandra and the couple’s two teenage sons. The funeral takes place on Monday in Wexford.
