GAP Youth Group

The GAP youth group begins on Saturday evening 24th January in Sligo Methodist Church, meeting 2nd and 4th Saturdays going forward.

Are you keen to invest in young people, helping us Gather Awaken and Propel them to a life of following Jesus and to Kingdom Work through the local Church? We’re looking for volunteers who could help us once or twice a month on Saturday evenings. Potential ways for team members to volunteer include helping run the evening program (facilitate games, help with worship, deliver talks, prayer ministry), help in the kitchen with drinks and snack, or being a befriender who comes alongside the young people.

We’re having a Team Info Night for potential volunteers 7-8pm Monday 19th January at Recentre (3 Mail Coach Road, F91 FK23) Coming along to the volunteer night doesn’t mean people are committing to helping, but gives them the opportunity to find out more and explore whether it’s something they would like to invest in. We will also have Garda Vetting forms available for those who decide they’d like to join the team.

Extra Points for Prayer:

  • those who are grieving
  • new youth initiatives
  • Eunjoo and Bushik as they move
  • the future of our sung worship
  • plans for Alpha and church small groups
  • Revd Matthew and Ven Hazel starting new roles

I will take hold of your hand.

I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people

and a light to the Gentiles,

to open eyes that are blind, to free captives from prison

and to release from the dungeon those who sit in darkness.

Isaiah 42.6b-7
