Please contact the Rectory if any of these things apply:
- you are experiencing significant challenges with your personal finances Protestant Aid has some funds available.
- you need some help with food Sligo Resource House Project has some resources.
- you need help collecting essential supplies or other practical matters.
Don’t suffer in silence. If you are just feeling lonely and need to talk to someone get in touch!
Mrs Eunjoo Goh
For over 2 ½ years Eunjoo has been the Director of Music in Calry. She has decided to return to South Korea with both daughters to be re-united with her husband at this uncertain time. She plans to return to Sligo, but probably not for some time. We wish the whole family God’s richest blessing and are so grateful for all she has been able to do to enhance our sung worship and to develop the choir.
Giving is a part and parcel of our worship. The traditional methods of giving are made very difficult at this time. Bt if you want to continue your regular giving to Calry why not do so electronically? For details please just get in touch with the Rector or the Treasurer Mrs Margaret Henry.
During worship services in Lent we are going to pray for a different country in the world where believers are persecuted. Today it’s Turkey with a population of about 83 million people. The small Christian minority has been swollen by refugees from Syria, Iraq, Iran and even Afghanistan is treated as inferior to the Muslim majority and its presence tolerated as a favour not a right. President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is an Islamist.
Points for Prayer:
- health care professionals and other front line workers under great strain
- those who are hospitalized or housebound
- families with school-aged children
- businesses feeling the financial strain of the crisis
- and also… the church in Turkey
Almighty and All-Loving God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We pray to you through Christ the Healer,
for those who suffer from the Covid-19 virus in Ireland and across the world.
We pray for those who mourn.
Give wisdom to policy makers, skill to health care professionals and researchers;
comfort everyone in distress and give a sense of calm in these days of uncertainty and fear.
We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord,
who showed compassion to the outcast, accepted the rejected,
and loved those to whom no love was shown. Amen
‘When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people, if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.’ 2 Chronicles 7.13-14
