Today we are looking at the account of King David’s affair with Bathsheba following the lectionary readings in the 1st and 2nd Books of Samuel. The New Testament passage is from Ephesians 3.14-21 – Paul’s amazing prayer for the Ephesian Christians and for all of us.

 

Open Air Sunday School

This morning is the third open air Sunday School. Children stay with their parents until after the children’s slot. The leaders will lead them outside and bring them back at the end of the service. Only children we have a permission slip for and have a completed Covid questionnaire can attend. Leaders/Helpers are Clara Hewston, Hiroko Moore and Áine Burke.

 

Youth Group

We’re planning to meet in Fort Hill at 7.30 pm this evening for football and should be joined by Claudio Barguena. Please bring your parental permission forms.

 

Carbury National School

Congratulations to Ms Linda McMahon who is to be the new Principal of Carbury National School. She comes from the post of Principal of Taunagh NS, Riverstown where she has done an excellent job. We wish her very well in her new role and pray for her and the whole school community as they look towards a new beginning in September.

 

Welcome to Baby Hughes

Congratulations to Denise and Craig Hughes on the birth of a little girl weighing 8lbs 11ozs just before midnight on Thursday 22nd. Mum and baby are both doing well.

Sponsored Walk for our Link Diocese

To sponsor Carla and Patrick go to: https://www.idonate.ie/sligowayforkindu The plan is to walk ‘The Miners’ Way’ long distance footpath in Counties Sligo, Leitrim and Roscommon from Monday 2nd – Friday 6th August. We will aim to walk a section of about 24 km per day and then return to Sligo in the evening. Anyone who wishes may join us. And please think of sponsoring us as we raise money for schools in our link diocese of Kindu in DR Congo.

Archbishop Masimango is going to retire as Primate in January but aims to continue working as Bishop of Kindu until 2028, if the Lord spares him.

Calry’s mission is to be a diverse yet unified community, discovering and promoting the beauty of Christ, being empowered by the Holy Spirit to grow into mature faith in God the Father, expressed in everyday service.

 

Vision Statement

  • To uphold biblical truth and the rich theological heritage of the Church of Ireland, while being relevant to the needs of an ever-changing world.
  • To develop pastoral care and ministry which will involve the use of small groups.
  • To invest in and develop the faith of the younger members as we look to the future.
  • To cooperate even more with other Christian fellowships locally, nationally and globally.
  • To increase regular worshippers through various means of outreach by 10% per annum.
  • To cultivate the giving of time, talents and finances to support the implementation of this vision.
