Matthew Topley’s Ordination
On Tuesday 8th in St Mark’s Armagh Matthew Topley is to be ordained Deacon by the Archbishop of Armagh. Please pray for him and Erin as they adjust to their new surroundings and role.
New Bishop of Connor
Some of you will remember George Davison as the former Archdeacon of Kilmore. He moved on in 2009 to Carrickfergus and is now the new Bishop of Connor. We wish him very well in his new role.
Easter General Vestry
Obviously, this year has been unlike any other. The Bishop has requested that all parishes hold their much delayed Easter General Vestry in this season. Calry’s is due to take place on Thursday 8th October at 8.00 pm in Calry Church. This is a public meeting and an opportunity to elect and appoint all those who will serve as church officers both at parish and diocesan level. This is a triennial election, so parochial nominators and appointments to diocesan synod will also be decided. Only members of the General Vestry can vote. If you are not currently a member of the Calry General Vestry and wish to become one please speak to the Rector or one of the church wardens.
Due to the ongoing Covid 19 restrictions the MU All Ireland President, June Butler and the All Ireland Trustees have decided that the time is not yet right to resume MU Branch meetings. This will be reviewed at the end of November, with a view for a ‘normal’ MU year in 2021.
Thank you to everyone who gives financially to support the ministry of Calry. There is no collection under the Covid-19 restrictions but two offertory boxes are available in church if you want to give cash or cheques. Calry depends heavily on the giving of regular worshippers.
If you would like prayer for yourself or a situation you are concerned about please contact the prayer team by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
