1st August 2021 – Trinity IX

We continue the story of David as we find out today what happened when the prophet Nathan confronted David with his sin. The New Testament passage is from John 6.24-35.

This morning’s service will be in two halves. The first will be like a usual Service of the Word. There will then be a short break and for those who wish to stay longer we will move on to Holy Communion. At this point there will be no livestreaming.

There is no open-air Sunday School today.

Youth Group

We’re planning to meet in Fort Hill at 7.30 pm this evening for football. Please bring your parental permission forms.

Carbury National School

Congratulations to Ms Linda McMahon who is to be the new Principal of Carbury National School. She comes from the post of Principal of Taunagh NS, Riverstown where she has done an excellent job. We wish her very well in her new role and pray for her and the whole school community as they look towards a new beginning in September.

Sponsored Walk for our Link Diocese

To sponsor Carla and Patrick go to: https://www.idonate.ie/sligowayforkindu The plan is to walk The Miners’ Way and Historical Trail two long distance footpaths in Counties Sligo, Leitrim and Roscommon from tomorrow until Friday.

If you want to join us please get in touch. The total length is approx. 118 km and is described as strenuous. If you would like to help and have use of a car that would also be very welcome.

Mission and Vision Statements

At the SV meeting on Thursday the following statements were officially adopted for our Parish:

Mission Statement
Calry’s mission is to be a diverse yet unified community, discovering and promoting the beauty of Christ, being empowered by the Holy Spirit to grow into mature faith in God the Father, expressed in everyday service.

Vision Statement
To uphold biblical truth and the rich theological heritage of the Church of Ireland, while being relevant to the needs of an ever-changing world.
To develop pastoral care and ministry which will involve the use of small groups.
To invest in and develop the faith of the younger members as we look to the future.
To cooperate even more with other Christian fellowships locally, nationally and globally.
To increase regular worshippers through various means of outreach by 10% per annum.
To cultivate the giving of time, talents and finances to support the implementation of this vision.


Patrick will be off-duty from Sunday 8th until Tuesday 24th August.

Sunday services are being led by Canon Ronnie Bourke on 8th and 15th and Nadine Larkin on 22nd.
